boop everypony! This nomad community has been through a lot together. Just as in the previous incarnation of the site, I have compiled a short history of MLP Chat, note that some of it has been copy/pasted from one of the old sites run by Soarin The Dark (AKA fingerdawg.)
April/12/2012, MLPChat.com was registered by Pencil Sketches, former owner and creator of our home, MLPChat.
April/16/2012 -- or possibly a few days earlier -- MLPChat went online, connecting the stranded bronies, who missed MLPForums' chatroom, together in a new area, bringing much awesomeness! Sadly, MLPChat/Mycrytsalempire went offline for understandable reasons, our thanks goes out to Pencil for helping us achieve a new-found friendship and ties we may never even have without him.
As you are well aware MLPChat has had a place in our hearts for a long time. It's where friendships were made, put to the test, and in some sad cases destroyed. It's where we first met each other in a community all our own and the place we called home for many months and a few years. In the sad event that MLPChat/MyCrystalempire was taken down. A few members rallied together to bring back our old home. That site was owned and run by Soarin The Dark. He made MLPChat a wonderful place once again. That site continued to prosper until March 2015, when the number of new users started to plummet and Soarin The Dark was unable to continue sponsoring the site under it's current biases. The name was changed to "AniManor" and it's roots were almost dismissed. This site was made to praise our community's roots and remember some old things about it's members.
MLPChat has had six incarnations in total:
1: MLPChat.com (Original Site) 1st incarnation -Pencil Sketches
2: Mycrystalempire.com (Same site switched names to become better.) -Pencil Sketches
3: MLPchat (Phpbb-Styled), Created by Bard, this is the official third incarnation before most of us migrated over to the 4th incarnation, abandoning Bard's project. -BardBronyPony :aka: -Gregg
4: MLPChat.com (Fourth incarnation, different administration,) sadly our databases were long gone so we started anew from scratch. -Soarin The Dark
5: The Sister-Site split between AniManor.com and MLPChat.freeforums.net (The split was meant to strengthen us, not tear us apart.) Once again, a new database on the mlpchat side, but the same old database on the animanor side. -Soarin The Dark (AKA -Fingerdawg) :and: -Nikolas
This is the fifth incarnation of the site, and the first incarnation of the Sister-Site Union. We'll need your help to become better, more efficient, and overall spread the origins of what MLPChat was about. Keeping connected with our brony friends and create even more new ones! On the other hand, we want money to have no bearing on what we wish to talk about. Therefore, this site was made to remember our roots and keep our legacy intact!
6: Animanor went down and very few of the users fled here out of ignorance of this site. I think it was sometime in April of 2016 that Fingerdawg decided to create a new site called mlp.chat/
The new site is where all the activity is now, and this old site is just a reminder in case we go down again. However, I doubt this will happen because ImNotaDJ, (YourEnigma,) has been donating money to keep the site up.
This website is now defunct until the unlikely moment when the new site goes down again.
Update: mlp.chat went down as of October 29th, 2016. We are hosting the community until that site goes back up, if ever.
